First missiles over Kyiv

First missiles over Kyiv

On the first day of the war Russian missiles flew past my window. I thought: «it is their plane and now they will bomb». I took my cats and ran to my parents' room.

It was not so scary with them.

Two hours later, when I realized that I would not go to school on that day, I became very sad. I don’t know if I will be able to come back to the normal life but trying not to lose hope and believe in Ukraine.

People leave big cities

People leave big cities

On the second day of the war in many cities of Ukraine became very dangerous. Because of that millions of people left their houses, pets and personal effects.

We did the same - packed our stuff in one bag and escaped into the unknown. It was really long trip. We spent 20 hours to get to the safe place where we could stay for some time.

I miss my place so hard as many Ukrainians do.

Let’s help them to see their homes and relatives again.

Missile hit the house in Kyiv

Missile hit the house in Kyiv

On the third day of the war a rocket hit the house in the center of the Kyiv for the first time. I couldn’t believe that the capital of the European country could be shelled in such way. Everyone was shocked. That day many people got injured.

We understood that it is not a military operation.

It is war.

russians destroyed MRIYA

russians destroyed MRIYA

On the fourth day of the war russian troops destroyed the largest Ukrainian aircraft «Mriya». Half year ago, I proudly watched this plane fly over Kyiv, flapping its huge wings.

But now «he is dead».

I believe that we will build another «Mriya», better and stronger. And it will fly around the whole world.

They can destroy our «Mriya» but they cannot destroy our hope.

Farmers stole russian tank

Farmers stole russian tank

On the fifth day of the war even Ukrainian farmers started to help our military and stole the russian tank. They pulled it with a tractor and then parked it in a barn.

I keep admiring the courage of our people.

Really hope that You too.

Two missiles hit the TV tower

Two missiles hit the TV tower

On the sixth day of the war they were trying to destroy the biggest TV tower in Ukraine. Russians thought that it would cut people from the true information.

But it didn’t work.

That day they committed another horrible crime - hit Holocaust Memorial Center Babyn Yar (this is the historical place where 150 000 of Jews were killed during the Second World War).

Twins were born in basement

Twins were born in basement

On the seventh day of the war Kharkiv (the first capital of Ukraine) totally under bombing.

Citizens spend most time in the bomb shelters, basements and underground stations. Mostly there were hiding children, aged people and pregnant women.

Exactly that day twins were born in one of such basements.

Despite of war, life has its own plans and defeat the death.

Ukraine gets military aid

Ukraine gets military aid

On the eighth day of the war we felt the support of other countries. They gave us the humanitarian aid and military defense systems. Thanks to that our brave soldiers are able to stop numerous attacks from our enemies.

I am very grateful to every country which helps Ukraine now.

Energodar under bombing

Energodar under bombing

On the ninth day of the war russian army did something really dangerous, not only for Ukraine but for all Europe at all.

Zaporizhska Nuclear Power Plant was captured by enemies. They also bombed Energodar, the nearest city to that Plant.

As the result of such actions there was a fire at the station and it became a real nuclear threat at that moment.

russians destroyed Irpyn

russians destroyed Irpyn

On the tenth day of the war Irpyn city was totally destroyed.

Citizens were forced to leave their homes and evacuate to the safe places. Many bridges were broken, that’s why people walked.

Our soldiers helped as much as they could - carried children, food, medicine and even animals.

Peaceful rallies in London

Peaceful rallies in London

On the eleventh day of the war people around the world were continuing to support Ukraine, taking part in peaceful rallies.

I was impressed by the scale and number of them. It was the first time when I felt that the whole world together with my country and ready to help us any time.

In the evening of that day I got some photos from my friend that is in UK. He with his family also took a part in such rally in the London.

I believe that all of these actions will help our people, will help our army, will help our country.

My cat – Simbad

My cat – Simbad

On the twelfth day of the war my friend who cares about my cat sent me a photo.

On that picture Simbad (my cat) guards military stuff of me friend’s father who joined to territorial defense forces.

Even animals support and help our soldiers.

Man carries the bomb

Man carries the bomb

On the thirteenth day of the war we started receiving information that russian army began to mine roads, buildings and even fields.

Somewhere on the internet I saw one man who, not realizing the danger of his actions, himself carried a mine with his hands in order to clear the road.

He is very brave and lucky.

Hospital was bombed

Hospital was bombed

On the fourteenth day of the war the maternity hospital in Mariupol was bombarded with heavy aerial bombs. There were a lot of pregnant women and newborns at the moment.

Those who managed to be saved were carried out on hands, broken doors and boards.

It’s not the first time that russian troops have shelled civil hospitals, kindergartens and schools killing Ukrainian children.

It is not even a war, IT IS GENOCIDE.

Lady saves her dog

Lady saves her dog

On the fifteenth day of the war people from occupied territories were trying to escape from «russian world». Someone was managed to leave by car, someone not - was shot from russian tanks and helicopters. Others walked and took their pets with them.

I was impressed by one young lady who carried her old dog for 19 kilometers until she reached Ukrainian forces.

On that day she became a hero for me.

People without electricity

People without electricity

On the sixteenth day of the war in some regions of Ukraine electricity went out. So, people were forced to camp and prepare food outside under constant fire.

It’s unbelievable that in 21 century such thing could happened.

I think that all these actions will forever remain in history.

And russia will forever be known as the aggressor.

Peaceful rallies in USA

Peaceful rallies in USA

On the seventeenth day of the war rallies around the world didn’t stop. People were supporting Ukraine as much as they could.

There were especially many rallies in USA on that day. All Ukrainians are very grateful for that and for military and humanitarian support.

It is really nice to know that you are not alone in this terrible war and that somebody always can help you.

russians bombed Yavoriv

russians bombed Yavoriv

On the eighteenth day of the war russian army bombed military base in Yavoriv where a lot of Ukrainian soldiers were trained. It’s not the first time when they so vilely attacked our defenders.

Those people can't win in a fair fight, that’s why they hit in the back.

Nature stops troops

Nature stops troops

On the nineteenth day of the war russian tanks were trying to enter the village of Bilogorodka. In this way they wanted to go to Kyiv.

But as usual their plan didn’t work. Tanks stuck in the swamps between the old Bilogorodsky shafts which were built in 12 century. So russian soldiers left their vehicles and just ran away.

This is the strength of Ukrainian land - not only in brave people but also in the nature.

Missiles hit Lavina Mall

Missiles hit Lavina Mall

On the twentieth day of the war missiles hit Lavina Mall. It is my favorite mall and one of the biggest in Kyiv. I used to spend weekends there with my parents and friends. Still remember how cool it was to watch movies and do shopping in this mall.

It is destroyed now but I believe that we will reconstruct Lavina and I will visit it again.

russians bombed Theatre

russians bombed Theatre

On the twenty first day of the war russians bombed the Drama Theatre in Mariupol. At that time there were many people hiding there. A lot of them were children.

Our people wrote on the road near the theatre that there are many children inside.

Unfortunately, it didn’t stop aggressor. They were bombing and killing CHILDREN.

And after that some people say that something is ambiguous.

russians ships leave Odesa

russians ships leave Odesa

On the twenty second day of the war using modern weapon Ukrainian soldiers hit russian ship which was planning to attack Odesa from the Black Sea. That’s why other ships were forced to leave Odesa.

Our soldiers began to control the sea and never let the enemy in again.

Slowly but surely, we went to victory.

Farmers on the field

Farmers on the field

On the twenty third day of the war despite the bombing, Ukrainian farmers took their tractors and with raised flags went to the field.

They understood how it is important to sow wheat and corn.

So, plucking up courage, they saved Ukrainian people from famine.

Old man saves a cow

Old man saves a cow

On the twenty fourth day of the war people were continuing to escape from the occupied cities. One old man from Irpin passed more than a hundred kilometers with a cow and a calf.

Everything in his path was exploding and burning.

Fortunately, this man and his animals were able to get to the safe place. Sometimes luck and miracles save lives.

Rallies in Kherson

Rallies in Kherson

On the twenty fifth day of the war Ukrainians in the occupied by russians Kherson city went to peaceful rallies. The russian military tried to disperse them - fired upwards and tried to disperse people with equipment.

But all was in vain.

People were ready to defend their freedom, their city, their right to live in a free state. They didn’t give the city to the enemy, they stood to the end. People gathered on the streets and shouted: “Kherson is Ukraine”. Citizens were supporting and helping each other.

And they didn’t give up.

Ukrainian pilots

Ukrainian pilots

On the twenty sixth day of the war Ukrainian pilots were fighting bravely in air battles. And even despite the superiority in numbers from russia, Ukrainian pilots won due to skill. They showed how much they are braver and more professional than russians.

One pilot who was nicknamed the “Ghost of Kyiv”, shot down more that 40 enemies’ planes.

And in eyes of Ukrainian people he became a national hero.

Students resumed studies

Students resumed studies

On the twenty seventh day of the war Ukrainian pupils and students resumed their studies despite the air raids and bombing.

As a 9th grade student I can say that it was not easy. You had to forget about the war for couple of hours and focus on the studying. And it was incredibly difficult.

But everybody understood that they still have a chance to become successful in the future, so they were working hard.

And I believe that they will reach what they want.

People protect monument

People protect monument

On the twenty eighth day of the war I saw on the internet that citizens of Odesa were trying to protect their cultural and historical monuments. They filled bags with sand at the beach and then carried those bags up the famous stairs in Odesa. After that Ukrainians protected the monument to Duke, covering it with bags.

I believe that it will help to safe this unique monument, and l and many other guests from all around the world will be able to see it again.

russians terrorists

russians terrorists

On the twenty ninth day of the war we were getting more and more information about pillage from the russian soldiers. They were killing innocent civilians and animals.

For some time russians were occupying houses of Ukrainian people. They made a mess and stole a lot of things (from home appliances and electronic devices to underwear).

Such actions indicate a lack of humanity and military etiquette.

I think that army which acts in this way cannot win.

Ukrainian Heroes

Ukrainian Heroes

On the thirtieth day of the war Ukrainian defenders were heroically fighting for Mariupol using Azov steel as fortification.

In the basement of this plant many civilian people (women, children, and elders) were hiding more than 20 days. They couldn’t evacuate or even leave the basement.

And only due to courage and despair of our soldiers these people still had a hope to get out of there.

Slava Ukraini!!!

Where will the money go

The funds will be donated to the children, affected by the war and to the children's hospital in the Kyiv region. It was this medical institution that took on the greatest burden during the war, because doctors saved the most difficult children from Bucha, Irpin, Hostomel, Borodyanka. We do not publish the hospital address and contact information for security reasons, but we are willing to provide all necessary information if needed.
